San Francisco Aura
This image was taken from Treasure Island around midnight on a warm February evening in 2002. A winter storm was approaching from the west and was illuminated by the city lights. The front remained to the west of the city long enough reflect the aura of this magical city.

Christmas Morning, 2001
Christmas morning of 2001 was cold and cloudy. The sun was able to light up the underside of the low cloud layer for only a few moments. The result was like fire in the sky. The shoreline was ringed with ice and snow and ice can be seen in the water on the right. Calm water produced the dramatic reflections. Mt. Tallac and Heavenly Valley can be seen on the right with Marlette Lake on the left.

Dawn of the New Millenium
Dawn of the New Millennium was taken on January 1, 2001 from Eagle Rock on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. A cold and partly cloudy morning was warmed up by a display of fiery color that scorched the sky. This view starts out with Mt. Tallac on the right and ends with Tahoe City and Mt. Watson on the left. The first light of the millennium, witnessed by only a few, was one of the most memorable sunrises I have ever seen.

Purple Snow
Purple Snow was taken at Hurricane Bay, on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, south of Tahoe City. A December morning in 2001 provided an intensely red and yellow sunrise. High cirrus clouds provided the perfect canvas for the sun to paint. Fog lingered near the center of the lake and fresh snow blanketed the shoreline.
